While gift giving feels wonderful, it can also become very stressful figuring out what to buy for the women you love. Whether it’s Christmas, a birthday or even a special occasion, the worst feeling in the world is being left scrambling to find something special for our friends and family…only to end up with something that doesn’t fit the recipient at all.

At that moment, running to the grocery store to grab an Amazon gift card might be easier. However, if we still have time, there’s another more personal option that those less artsy than others (i.e. me) sometimes overlook – making your own gifts!

Now, if you’re like me, you probably run in fear just thinking about a DIY option, but recently I’ve stopped to ask myself, “Have I thought about how much more my friend or family member might appreciate a DIY gift than a random gift I grabbed from the store because I couldn’t think of anything else I thought was “nice enough”? DIY gifts show the recipient that you care because they can see the effort you’ve put in. I know I always appreciate them when I get them! They don’t have to be perfect, and if you do them right, they can be a lot less expensive!

So, to help you on your quest for the perfect gift, here are 4 Unique DIY Gift Ideas you could make for the special women in your life!

Create a Photo Display or Photo Album

With most all our pictures staying in digital form these days, sometimes having a physical copy is the perfect gift. Grab pictures from the recipient’s social media, look through your own photos, or ask their [your] friends and family for photos that might be meaningful to the recipient. You could (1) make an album that maps out the a timeline of events (i.e. what happened that year, or over a period of years) and include little notes about each photo; or (2) Mod Podge photos to a canvas and include some of your favorite moments with the recipient; or (3) put the photos in antique frames of all sizes that they could use to decorate their walls with. Whatever you decide, photos are always a great option!

Put Together Homemade Bath Bombs

Creating your own bath bombs is a lot easier than it looks. Once you have the right ingredients and molds you can make several different scents and shapes, then package them into a lovely little box!

Make Candles or Wax Melts with Their Favorite Scent

Similar to bath bombs, creating your own candles or wax melts is actually quite simple once you know what you’re doing. With so much inspiration on Pinterest, it’s incredibly easy to create lots of different scents and designs, which would be perfect for the recipient who loves relaxing with a nice scented candle in the evenings (like I do). Having a large selection gives them lots of options to choose from!

Create Your Own Perfume Scent

If you want to make a truly special gift then you could also design a unique perfume scent. Not only will they have a scent that is completely their own, but you’ll be able to show how much you know about them by personalizing it to their taste. To do this you need to get a number of ingredients, the most important of which being Wholesale Oils.
