A blog & Podcast dedicated to helping women become their best, well-rounded self in Christ. The heart of my ministry is to share a Christian perspective on self-care, spiritual maturity, and the peace found in releasing expectations to embrace God's plan.
We are officially kicking off “Your Best New Self 21 Day Challenge” this Monday, June 3rd! I’ll be doing an IG Live Bible Study at 8:15pm cst Monday evening during which we’ll discuss everything in detail! In the mean time, however, feel free to download the printable 21 Day Challenge PDF below and begin filling out the first page!
Do you ever feel like your emotions are getting the best of you? Yeah, me too. So, to help us with this ongoing struggle, I’ll share a few lessons I’ve gleaned from Ecclesiastes 9 that might help us manage our emotions in a healthy, God-centered way.
Ever feel like your emotions are wrecking your relationships, heart and life in general? I’m with you! Self-control when it comes to emotions has been one of my biggest stumbling blogs in my spirital walk. So, since this seems to be a common theme for us Christ followers, I think it’s about time we talk about it!
I thought I should start posting my Instagram Lives I do every Wednesday on here if you like watching Vlogs!
In this IG Live, we’re continuing out theme of “how to manage emotions in a healthy way.” One of the key lessons we’ll discuss is, “Sometimes we have to just ‘let go and let God’ in order to find peace and happiness.” This, along with a few other key lessons, is our focus for this study going through Ecclesiastes 3.
If you would like to participate in a live recording, follow me on Instagram (@helenelizabethspeaks) and click my profile picture every Wednesday at 12pm cst. You’ll be joining me and hundreds of others as we make the Bible applicable to our daily lives. I truly hope this video speaks to your heart…and if it does, I’d love for you to give me a thumbs up, follow my blog, and/or comment below!
Praying for you today and always, Love in Christ, Friends!

In case you missed our weekly “Best New Self” Instagram (IG) Live Bible Study covering Luke 15:1-24 this week, here’s a replay (see video below)! While studying Luke 15 to prepare for our study, I was greatly reminded of the time period when I finally saw my way of life for what it was – hurtful and sinful – and wanted nothing more than to repent from my old way of living and be made new in Christ. This chapter paints such a beautiful picture of how God waits for us to see the errors of our ways, as well as how He searches for us when we’re lost. I love this chapter of the Bible because it shows me just how much our Father loves us. In each example given in this chapter we see that a prized possession is lost. Why? Because Jesus is trying to tell us that WE are His prized positions, and He wants nothing more than for us to be saved and have a close relationship with Him.
If we’re honest, we all secretly (or not so secretly) hope for the easiest life possible. We find comfort in the idea that if we do everything right, plan everything perfectly and follow all the rules, then life will be easy. No one will ever get sick. Nothing bad will happen to the people we love. We won’t ever face hardship or setbacks.
The truth is, however, that God never promised those things. He never told us that if we’re good, nothing bad will ever happen. He does tell us that He will make everything beautiful in its time. He tells us that He will work everything out for good for those who love Him. He tells us that He knows the plans He has for us…plans to prosper us and give us hope and a future.
